About

Sonic Artifact

The platform allows musicians, producers, and composers to upload their work, set their own terms, and connect directly with listeners who care enough to pay for what they love. Whether you release a single ambient field recording or a full-length album that took three years to finish, Sonic Artifact treats every release with the same seriousness a gallery extends to a painting.

For listeners, Sonic Artifact is a catalog of work that would never surface through algorithmic recommendation. These are releases chosen because someone made them with intention, not because a trend demanded it. You can stream, download, or support artists directly through fixed pricing or name-your-own-price donations — no subscriptions, no intermediaries taking the majority of the cut.

We built Sonic Artifact because we were tired of platforms that treat music like content and artists like content creators. The name comes from the idea that a recording is a physical artifact of something that happened — a performance, a session, an idea caught in time. We want to honor that.

Sonic Artifact is independent, small, and growing slowly by design. We are not backed by venture capital and we do not optimize for engagement metrics. We are a tool for people who make things and people who love things that were made carefully.

For Artists

Upload your music, set your own price, write your own liner notes. Keep full creative and commercial control. Reach listeners who actively seek independent work rather than passively consuming what an algorithm serves them.

For Listeners

Discover music made outside the mainstream. Support artists directly. Build a collection that means something. No monthly fee, no noise — just releases worth your time and attention.
